Overview

Palm Beach Virtual is a self-selecting, student/parental choice program for kindergarten through grade 12 students whose primary residence is Palm Beach County, Florida.   This progressive choice program is providing expanded educational services to a wider student community for anywhere, anytime learning.

Key practices will include monitoring the pace of each student to enable teachers to provide help just in time, examining student performance on state measures of learning, collecting satisfaction data from parents and students, and monitoring teacher progress toward course completion goals and student outcomes.

Virtual students have access to specialized extracurricular activities.  Additionally, students are welcome to participate in extracurricular activities at their boundary school while enrolled in Palm Beach Virtual, Florida Virtual School, and K12.

STUDENTS IN GRADES k-12 WHO ARE ENROLLED IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS, CHARTER SCHOOLS, TRADITIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS MAY ENROLL IN PART TIME VIRTUAL SCHOOL.  INTERESTED STUDENTS OR THEIR PARENTS SHOULD CONTACT PALM BEACH VIRTUAL FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

Home Education Student Opportunities

We recognize that the strong Home Education community in Palm Beach County has diverse needs and requires a high level of flexibility.  In the Palm Beach franchise of Florida Virtual School we are able to tailor needs to local families.  Our teachers are certified, highly qualified, FLVS trained and live in Palm Beach County.  They are available for parent meetings, extension activities and field trips.  Our core teachers are all full-time virtual, available throughout the day to conference and assist students as needed.

Home Education students who sign up for classes in FLVS at Palm Beach maintain all flexibility mandated by Florida legislation.  Home Education students are not required to register as Palm Beach District students and they are not required to take state assessments.  They are allowed to try out for and/or participate in extracurricular activities at their neighborhood schools.  They may enroll in courses which are required for participation in extracurricular activities in which they participate.

By providing students with world class courses and local teachers, we build a stronger community of resources and connectedness that benefits all home education students in our county.

High School Diploma Option

Palm Beach Virtual will grant high school diplomas.  Students must be registered with the School District and must fulfill all graduation requirements as specified in policy and academic guidelines.
